To those who support the re-election of Jim Kalb as Mayor of Portsmouth, you are backing a person who has publicly declared there is nothing wrong with and fully supports profiling of black males. His racist support of the profiling of black males was made October 22, 2009, at the Shawnee State University Mayoral Forum.  Also, it has been reported by other websites that Kalb had been a member of an East End Gang that viciously attacked black members of our community.

Hate crimes are becoming a popular form of political terrorization practiced by Kalb and supported by businesses in town.

One of those businesses is Auto Mania on Gallia Street, owner Marty Mohr (who is the treasurer of the group backing the website p-town underground).
 

And Staker’s Lawn & Gardens Equipment Inc Sales and Service on 9th Street (the picture was taken at the residential property of Robert and Debra Staker in Portsmouth)

Also several residents of Portsmouth have joined in to show their support towards hate crimes (below pictures are residential properties located in Portsmouth).

Today, October 28th, 2009, Jane Murray, candidate for Mayor, gave a press release at the Laborers’ Local 83 Union Hall on 8th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio. The press release was prompted after an underground blog, started by anonymous individuals during the eleventh hour of the campaign.   They have posted unfounded charges in a desperate attempt to cut into the large lead she has in the Mayoral race.

I feel the answers that were given by the two (2) candidates is noteworthy for the voters of Portsmouth, Ohio.

First a couple quotes by the two (2) candidates:

Scott Smith – “It is not the judge’s decision where the city of Portsmouth is going to place that court . . . There is about $250.000 dollars currently in a special projects fund that the court has . . . That money could perhaps put a new roof on the city building to quit the leaking - there are some funds available.”

Steve Mowery – “Yes, maybe somebody let the horse out of the barn by not taking care of that building, but its well beyond being taken care of . . . That building needs replaced.”

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) fiercely opposes police camera surveillance as a potential to abuse the personal information recorded. Although few instances of misuse of surveillance footage have taken place in areas currently using the devices, can you imagine the mishandling of information and the possible lawsuits because of the mismanagement by our local Police Department here in Portsmouth, Ohio’s administration?

Not only does Kalb promote the use of police cameras but he is supporting and encouraging profiling. Tells you how the police cameras are going to be used in my opinion.
